To Whom It May Concern:
It gives me great pleasure to recommend the physical therapy services provided by Elizabeth Weiss. Ms. Weiss treated me for a herniated disc in the summer of 2008. When I first saw her in June of that year, I was so incapacitated that I could not walk down the end of the street without pain, nor could I drive a car for more than a few minutes without painkillers and ice.
Slowly but surely over a period of months, I began to respond to her treatment plan. I will never forget the day when she had me in traction. All of a sudden, I became completely pain-free for a few wonderful moments. I realized right then and there that I would get better. I had hope.
As a physical therapist, Ms. Weiss used a number of treatment modules to achieve relief from pain and the restoration of mobility. Aside from the standard therapies such as manipulation, exercise, ice, and electric stimulation, she provided me with a plan for the rest of my life.
She explained how to conduct my everyday life in such a way as to avoid a relapse. This took time and patience, skills of which she has plenty. She taught me how to push, pull, lift, carry, drive and brace myself. Now, carrying a bad of groceries or brushing the dog have become routine events that are pain free. Most importantly, she has made me aware of my body dynamics so that I can avoid future pitfalls and find solutions on my own. Lastly, she taught me about limits. When in doubt, get help.
In addition, Ms. Weiss is intuitive and sensitive, two qualities that are a must in the recovery process. She is also kind and very empathetic. She has an exceptional talent for personalizing and custom designing her treatment plans to the patients’ individual needs. Although these qualities cannot be captured on a progress report, they are nevertheless vital to being a successful physical therapist.
As a result, she provided me with a place to go where I could share my pain and frustration. When I look back, these qualities played an important part in accelerating my healing and proved critical to my rehabilitation.
Ms. Weiss gave me back my life. Currently, I am free of narcotics and anti-inflammatories. The maintenance exercises that she prescribed are preventing future relapses. Her recommended program has restored my mobility, and in turn, my quality of life. The patients lucky enough to have her as a physical therapist are indeed very fortunate. She has my highest recommendation.
Sincerely,
